There's a new chapter for The Ascenders through an exciting partnership with FutureGen Comics.

Rather than a direct adaptation, The Ascenders comic series offers a completely reimagined take on the world and themes that inspired the book. Set in a society grappling with uncertainty, division, and turmoil, the story follows a group of young leaders known as The Ascenders as they draw upon their unique strengths, relationships, and sense of purpose to protect their community and campus from forces that threaten its future.

While inspired by the core ideas of identity, resilience, belonging, and possibility found in The Ascenders: A College Success Toolkit Inspired by Rural Black Men, the comic introduces readers to an original universe filled with adventure, challenge, and hope. Through dynamic storytelling and compelling artwork, the series explores what it means to rise, lead, and serve others when the path forward is uncertain.

Volume One is anticipated to be released in December 2026, marking an exciting expansion of The Ascenders universe and offering a new way for students, educators, and communities to engage with its message of purpose, courage, and collective uplift.
