The Ascenders Comic Book

There's a new chapter for the Ascenders: a partnership with FutureGen Comics to bring The Ascenders: A College Success Toolkit Inspired by the Experiences of Rural Black Men to life as a comic book adaptation.

This visual reimagining translates the heart of The Ascenders into an accessible, engaging comic format that centers the lived experiences, resilience, and brilliance of rural Black men navigating higher education. Through dynamic storytelling and compelling artwork, the comic book expands how students, educators, and mentors engage with themes of identity, purpose, perseverance, and belonging.

The first series, Volume One, is anticipated to be available in December 2026, marking an exciting new chapter that broadens the reach and impact of The Ascenders for classrooms, campuses, and communities.
